As you know, I love seeing empty products because I feel like you can find out a lot about someone’s real opinion on a product when they’ve used it up. Over the last few months, I have been leaning towards making more mindful purchases of products, as well as focusing on using up the products I have already before. I have been culling my collection since May and trying to see where I have any gaps.
I don’t have many empties this month, I have recently opened a bunch of new products/am halfway through lots of products so I tried to use up samples.
Philosophy Renewed Hope In A Jar full size and Night version sachet: I love this moisturiser, this is my first full size since I finished a mini size I purchased in last year’s Christmas collection. I have combination skin, leaning more oily in Summer and drier in Winter so this is perfect for balancing my skin out. I find it sinks into my skin quickly without leaving any residue or making my skin feel oily before applying makeup. A 60ml full size took me about 4 1/2 months to finish up.
Repurchase: I already have! I purchased one of the Christmas value sets for $49 (Renewed Hope For The Holidays) which contains a 30ml regular Renewed Hope In A Jar, and a 30ml night version as well as a 7ml eye cream which I am still working on my previous 7ml eye cream from my last value set! I might also pick up another value set (Renewed Hope For The Holidays) which contains a full size moisturiser and a 30ml night moisturiser for $55 as backups because I know I’ll use them! You basically end up with the second mini size moisturiser for free!
Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Ultra Gentle Daily Peel: I was a given a sample sachet of this two step program at Mecca in my last makeup application when I mentioned I needed something a bit stronger to exfoliate my skin. I loved this product, but my bank account doesn’t! This is such a good product, and there is a reason it’s loved by celebrities worldwide. The actual product is a pad with the AHA product on it, which you rub around your face for two minutes and dislodge all your blackheads. I found it worked really well for my skin. The most similar product to this I have used previously is the Go-To Skincare Exfoliating Swipies which come in a tub for much cheaper. I still have plenty of these left so I use those up first before purchasing the mini kit of the Alpha Beta kit.
Repurchase: A mini size for sure, this is a great product. I wouldn’t use it as often as recommended as the small pack of five would run out pretty quickly!
The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal mask: I received this in my latest The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal mask and tried it straight away! The mask is a mud type mask which is similar to masks like Glam Glow Supermud, the Sukin Detoxifiying Clay Mask and the Sephora Mud Mask except, this mask has bamboo charcoal pieces in it, which exfoliate the skin as you rub the mask in as well as when cleaning it off. It has a tingling sensation, which some people have said stung, but personally, I don’t have sensitive skin so I just felt a slight tingle and then a cooling sensation.
Repurchase: I also received a 25% off Body Shop masks coupon in the box so I very well may just purchase this depending on when the coupon expires as I have plenty of clay/mud masks to get through first!
Small empties for October but so far in November I already have a few to add!
What did you finish this month? Have you tried any of my empties before?
