It’s officially Summer this week, although in Queensland we have been feeling it for quite some time already. My favourites this month are a lot of new things because you guessed it, I have been purchasing quite a bit lately to treat myself! I’ve had Secret Santa gifts, a USA haul to treat myself for a good result at work, and once a year Benefit sale, and a Priceline 40% off sale – unsurprisingly, I bought things at each.
Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Palette: I’ve featured this frequently since purchasing in July, including my October Beauty Favourites but I couldn’t not include it, seeing as it’s mostly all I have picked up this month. It has a fantastic amount of matte and shimmer shades, without being too ‘out-there’ for a corporate job.
Benefit “Watt’s Up” Highlighter: I’ve wanted this highlighter for well over a year, and I actually thought I bought it in last year’s November Benefit 20% off sale, but instead I had bought the “High Beam” which is not for me as much, although I have a neutral skin tone, I prefer golden highlights over pink toned.
Benefit “Goof Proof” Eyebrow Shader: I bought this on Sarah from Bows and Pleats recommendation from way back when the new eyebrow range launched at Benefit in July. I bought this in the shade 3, however, I could potentially have gone for shade 4 as I have black eyebrows and dark brown hair. It has a waxy end which is wind up, similar to Hourglass’s and the Anastasia Beverley Hills products. This one also has a spooly on the end for brushing through the product. I haven’t tried the Hourglass or ABH products so I cannot fully compare.
NARS Blush in Lustre: My all time favourite NARS blush, I picked this up in March at a NARS workshop at Mecca Cosmetica which a visiting makeup artist with @ChelseaJaneBeauty. It may look dark orange on the skin, but once on the face, it turns to a gorgeous golden blush to illuminate the skin and also acts as a highlighter on the skin. I originally missed out on this in the Steven Klein palette from last year.
Chloe Morello x Revlon Contour Palette: How cute is this product, though? I feel like getting contour products from the drugstore is very hit and miss in Australia but after hearing about the buttery texture from Chloe’s collaboration, I had to pick it up during the Priceline sale recently. The texture is wonderful, not quite a cream, but not quite a powder, similar to a cream to powder transformation. It is buttery and long lasting and very very easy to go overboard if at first, you don’t blend correctly. In saying that, it’s easy to blend and I had no trouble fixing how pigmented it was! Highly recommend this product, and it’s less than $25 at full price as well!
Another favourite not pictured here as it’s not directly beauty related is the eBook I recently bought from Blog Pixie’s Vanessa called “Blog Pretty” which I purchased in the last week of the month. I savoured it over a few days and now I’m ready to put everything into action! The book was so well priced, at less than $20AUD and offered so many amazing tips from Vanessa’s experience in a well-edited round up, as well as being super aesthetically pleasing. I can’t recommend this ebook enough, you can purchase it here.
