I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s dreamed of going to a makeup store of a heap of their favourite brands for 40% off! This actually happened to me, going to the Estee Lauder Corporate Store yesterday with my friends from work! I also made a cheeky stop in at Mecca Maxima on the way home via the city and picked up a few more goodies!!
When we first entered the store it was absolute bedlam as there were 2 charity events going on and it was a fight to the battle for the good stuff! Fortunately we had a good long while in there that I looped around the place half a dozen times, putting things back, picking new things up, and most importantly, staying under budget! I set myself a budget of $200 and all of this came in for $194 (Including a gift for my mum!). Here’s the breakdown:
– Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy, full price unknown as it was a holiday collection. I paid $36 and got 2 (1 for me, 1 for Mum).
– Clinique Moisture Surge 50ml, RRP $60, I paid $36.
– Clinique Power Lashes set, RRP $73, I paid $23.
– Estee Lauder Lucidity Transluscent Loose powder, RRP Unknown but somewhere around $75, I paid $41.
– MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus lipstick, RRP $36, I paid $22.
So far I’ve tried all the lipsticks and I love all of them! I’ve also tried the Clinique Moisture Surge as my skin is terribly dry right now and it’s already improved dramatically! I think that is my happiest purchase.
After this I headed into the city with one of the girls from work and among other place, we headed to Mecca Maxima and I bought the Kate Somerville Daily Nourish Moisturiser in the mini 15ml jar because I found it minimised my pores immensely in the sample sachet I received a few weeks ago in my Beauty Loop. I also grabbed a Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion in the mini tube of 15ml as I was hoping this was at the corporate store but wanted to try it anyway. The sales assistants were lovely as always, and threw in samples of Philosophy’s Hope in a Jar formula which I’ve now got a few sachets of from Sephora etc, I really should get around to trying them! I’m thinking of doing a samples challenge where I try to use up my samples… They also threw in 2 mini sample pots of Glam Glow’s Thirsty Mud Mask which I’m both excited to try out and scared to get addicted to as it’s like $85 a jar :O
After this we headed to Kit Cosmetics in Myer where I FINALLY joined the chocolate club and purchased the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I have had the hardest time choosing between these palette’s and I honestly think I’ll go back for the Semi-Sweet palette eventually but for now I am done with makeup spending for awhile at least ha! I’m really excited to use this and might find myself watching some tutorials on it this weekend to practice for work this week!
That’s it for my uber haul this weekend, now classified as broke and pay day was only yesterday… of course! I’m looking forward to trying all these new products and completing reviews on them. Do you prefer individual reviews of products, or collective reviews of a topic e.g. of Moisturisers in general, or the Clinique Moisture Surge product? Let me know in the comments!
Have a great week everybody!
