My December Favourites are a little late this month, December is one of those months that just gets away from you entirely! Between hosting guests, family visiting, wrapping up work for the year and Christmas – it just doesn’t feel like you’ve got enough hours in the week a lot of the time!
My favourites this month are quite a lot of new faces to the drawer! I also received a new lens for Christmas, the Canon 50mm 1.8 which I just adore and helps me to take beautiful pictures for this blog.
My first favourite this month is my trusty Tartelette In Bloom palette which I’m sorry, but I literally feature this almost every month these days – I just love it that much! With a great sized mirror, sturdy packaging and a great array of colours, it’s hard to beat as my favourite palette these days.
A new favourite this month and one I’ve wanted to own since trying it in February are the Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder in Incandescent Strobe Light. I received this in a deluxe size in the Sephora Glow For It set which I won from Sunday Luxe! I always feel so wasteful with full-size highlighters so this gets the tick of approval from me. It has a beautiful sheen on the cheeks and doesn’t look full on, which some of my other highlighters do. The pinky tones also compliment my neutral skin tone. If you’re looking for a highlighter suited for work/every day – this is your guy!
I picked up Stila’s Kitten Eyeshadow after a recent Mecca makeup application artist used it on me as a highlight. I had previously owned this shade in the Stila Spirit palette, but sold the palette after the only shade I used was Kitten. It’s so great owning Kitten as it’s just so versatile! Kitten can be used as a highlight or eyeshadow, and I frequently pop this on as my only eyeshadow on days when I just can’t be bothered.
Avene’s Micellar Water is another newbie to my collection, since receiving it in my Summer Marie Claire The Parcel and I’ve been loving it! You know I am passionate about my micellar waters as I recently reviewed a whole bunch a few months ago here. Avene’s offering to the market is gentle, doesn’t have an obnoxious scent and has fantastic packing in the form of a pop-up lid that you can open with one hand and pour the contents out as required. Other brands take note! This micellar water is fairly pricey at $32 from Priceline, but with a Skincare sale coming up at Priceline, I reckon it would be a good one to add to your lists!
I have a few of Benefit’s Porefessional mini’s and I’ve been enjoying using them up on my nose area and my chin where I have a lot of large pores and my foundation has a lot of trouble sticking. I usually get these in gift sets and they actually work the way I wanted Too Faced’s Primed and Poreless to work! I don’t know if I’ll repurchase it yet when I run out of my sample sizes.
Too Faced’s Lady Balls is another one I received in a set from my prize from Sunday Luxe and I love the new Melted formula! It applies with a doe foot applicator and dries matte which is different to the regular Melted formula. It doesn’t have the greatest lasting power through a meal, but it did only rub off in the middle of my lips which wasn’t too bad.
Are any of these your favourites?
